AOP Students Awards Night 2009

The AOP Students Awards Night 2009 took place on Wednesday 27th May and was attended by over 200 students, lecturers and press.

The evening was introduced by the Students Awards Project Manager, Kate Doyle, and the prizes were presented by Matt Beard from Canon. The title of AOP Student Photographer of the Year 2009, sponsored by Canon, went to Özant Kamaci.

Özant received a package of prizes to launch his professional career, including an EOS 5D Mark2 kit with EF24-105mm LIS Lens from Canon and a double page spread in the AOP Photographers Award 2010 book.

Merit prizes also went to Philip Haynes and Laura Liebnitz, who each received a Canon IXUS 85is.

The overall winner of the AOP Lecturers Awards 2009 was Mark Hall, Programme Leader of BA Hons Commercial Photography at the University of Derby. Mark was presented with a Canon EOS 5D Mark2 kit with EF24-105mm lens. Second prize went to Antony Chambers from Cleveland College of Art & Design and Alison Fawcett from Norton College, Sheffield, came third.
