About the Awards
The AOP Students Awards were established in 1981, to recognise and highlight emerging photographic talent which existed in further education institutions across the UK. Over 31 years later they have gone from strength to strength and are now regarded as one of the premiere photographic competitions for students around the UK attracting thousands of entries every year.
Many of the AOP Students Awards winners go on to become winners in the AOP Assistants Awards, and then even the AOP Photographers Awards, as we pride ourselves on nurturing talented photographers throughout their career.
There are four categories in the AOP Students Awards with single and series entries accepted and AOP Student members receive a discounted entry fee. Those selected for the final exhibition not only get their images shown in the final exhibition, but also feature in the Students Awards book.
