AOP OPEN 2010

The 2010 AOP Open was judged by five renowned professionals from the photographic industry, and with approximately 1300 submissions this year it was a difficult task for the judges to select the images that make up the final exhibition.

The coveted Best in Show award went to Adrian Cook for his evocative black & white shot, That Summer.

Judge Martin Brent commented:

"I chose this image as Best in Show because it has a genuine honesty, it's refreshing, it's a caught moment, the kind of moment that photography is all about. Emotion is conveyed, the kids are clearly having a great time, Mom (?) is relaxed and it's an intimate family moment that we are allowed to share without feeling voyeuristic. When Kodak came up with the trademark catch phrase 'a Kodak moment' I think this is what they had in mind."

The Public Choice Award was presented to Luc Coiffait for his image, Enchanted.

There was an overwhelming response to this year's Public Vote and Luc Coiffait was a clear winner with 462 votes.

The full exhibition is showcased at the AOP Gallery in Shoreditch from Tuesday 17th August to Thursday 9th September and the catalogue is available to purchase from the Gallery or from blurb.com.
