AOP OPEN 2003

The fourth AOP Open competition gathered a panel of respected people from the photographic, editorial and publishing industries to select 100 images for the AOP Open exhibition in 2003.

Judges found standards to be exceptionally high, and, with such a wide variety of work, not only was a 'best in show' selected, but also two runners-up were picked out for particular praise.

1st prize went to Leigh Anderson for his obscure, low-key portrait, which leaves you wanting to know more.

Jack Lowe’s humorous shot of a dog and Elin Hoyland’s stark portrait of aging twins were worthy runners-up.

Kylie Johnston, then Photography Editor at Rotovision, said of the judging process, "the range of work submitted was highly rewarding - pros and amateurs alike. It is a great democratic competition."
